The ideal roof for solar power is south-facing, with an actual orientation of 180 degrees, to maximise the sunlight from your panels. However, roofs sloping towards the east or west may be good candidates if they meet the other conditions.
SOLAR PANELS ON A PITCHED ROOF
This is the most common solar panel installation in residential areas. Sloped roof solar panel installation is intended for non-flat or angular roofs. The angular shape of the roof and the complex equipment required to hold the solar panels in place on these types of roofs make sloped roof solar panel installation the most difficult of all installations.
